AstraZeneca approached **AnoxKaldnes** (the Veolia Group division specialising in **biological wastewater treatment**) to find a solution that would allow the safe discharge of their pharmaceutical wastewater into **Lake Mälaren**.

The wastewater was highly toxic and contained a very high percentage of organic content: the **aquatic ecosystem** would be severely compromised.

After careful analysis, MBBR technology was chosen for its **ease of implementation** and efficiency in treating and **removing organic compounds.** The plant and treatment proved to be excellent for our client's needs.
