Comprehensive wastewater treatment and water recovery system for consumer goods facility

Sustainable manufacturing expansion with significant on-site water recovery supporting environmental objectives

The client's needs:

An established pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturer in Belgium operated an aging purified water installation comprising legacy A multinational consumer goods manufacturer invested in a new manufacturing facility in Turkey to increase production capacity for home and personal care products. The facility required a comprehensive wastewater treatment solution capable of handling complex wastewater streams generated by consumer goods manufacturing operations. Environmental objectives included achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification and zero waste-to-landfill status, requiring a treatment system that would not only meet environmental discharge standards but also enable significant water recovery and reuse on-site.

The solution:

Veolia designed and delivered a comprehensive wastewater treatment plant using advanced, proven technologies to meet the client's operational and environmental objectives. The treatment plant comprises multiple integrated stages utilising advanced technologies to achieve outlet water quality meeting environmental discharge standards whilst simultaneously recovering high-quality water for on-site reuse.
